Our insight on Google algorithm changes

Last week Unique talked about Google + Pages for Business.

This week's insight comes from recent Google algorithm changes. It'll help you consider how to maintain your website's visibility:
 

• Content is primary

"Boilerplate" anchor text throughout the website such as words in the menu are being devalued. More emphasis is being placed on the content within the page.
 

• Optimisation for apps

'Rich snippets for apps' is now available. A Facebook app can now be described within the code of an application allowing you to optimise the app for search results.
 

• Image syndication devalued

Images that are syndicated will no longer be preferred in search results.
 

• Brand sites get a boost

"Official" pages given a boost. So brand's own page about their products will appear higher in the search results than a page about someone talking about that product.
