What Google + Pages for Business means to websites
With the launch of Google + Pages for Business Unique spent some looking at what this means to websites and compiled the following summary:
- It's a branded page that lets you connect your social spaces
- You can engage with people, they can follow you and people can bring you into their Circles.
- Circles are a way of splitting up your relationships and audiences so you can have different conversations with each, rather than the same one with everybody.
- You can Huddle', meaning you can have live chats with some or all of your circles (like a Twitter party).
- You can post content or use Google+ to distribute content from other sources (like YouTube, your website).
- It collects all your +1's and allocates them to the brand.
- +1 positively effects search rankings. Pages are a direct avenue to get them.
- The pages will be piped directly into Google using Connect. These pages will assist visibility of branded content as they will index faster, and the content will benefit from any existing accumulated +1's.
- Google wants to assess brand affinity. Getting followers and shares helps them achieves this. It is likely to become a site signal for search results in the same way accumulated links provides domain authority.
- You can link to adwords accounts and landing pages which will accrue the +1's to the brand and help adwords performance. The same will happen for display.
- It is likely interaction on these pages will assist Google bringing back live search.
With the combination of Google + Pages, relevant content and all
